Lil Wayne has pleaded guilty in his federal weapons case. The 38-year-old appeared in a virtual court hearing where he pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm as a formerly convicted felon.
The charge came from a December 2019 incident where federal agents searched Wayne‘s plane at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, which made a stop in Florida on its way to California. Upon the search, federal agents discovered the .45-caliber handgun in Wayne’s luggage. As a convicted felon, Wayne was not supposed to be in possession of a weapon. Wayne was convicted of a felony gun charge in New York back in 2009. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
Lil Wayne‘s sentencing hearing is scheduled for January 28, 2021.
