Doja Cat revealed on Twitter that she is “quitting” pop music. Doja’s must has alway been a mixture of hip-hop, pop & R&B, but according to the artist, she’s decided to focus on rap.

The 27-year-old tweeted: “no more pop” adding, ‘i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing yall say that i can’t so I will … pop isnt exciting to me anymore. I dont wanna make it,”

Doja Cat previously stated that her next project, “Hellmouth”, will be inspired by Rave Culture; but on another occasion, she said it will be straight R&B, and no rap at all. The forthcoming project is the follow-up to Doja’s third studio album ‘Planet Her’, which featured Young Thug, The Weeknd, JID, SZA, Ariana Grande and more. ‘Planet Her’ received eight nominations at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards and won the trophy for SZA collab “Kiss Me More” in the “Best Collaboration” category.
