Gunna has dropped the new music video for ‘rodeo dr’, which draws inspiration from O.J. Simpson’s infamous 1994 car chase.
Directed by Spike Jordan, the video sees the rapper cruising through Los Angeles in a white Ford Bronco, recreating Simpson’s saga as he dodges paparazzi and crazed fans.
For those too young to remember, O.J. Simpson was at the center of controversy back in 1995 when he was on trial after being accused of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman. He was eventually acquitted with the help of a powerful legal team that consisted of the late Johnnie Cochran, and Kris Jenner’s late ex-husband, Robert Kardashian.
Prior to the start of Simpson’s trial, however, a warrant was put out for his arrest in 1994; and instead of surrendering, the NFL Hall-of-Famer led LAPD officers through a 60-mile car chase throughout L.A. in his all-white Ford Bronco. This event, which was televised, still remains one of the most-watched broadcasts to occur in American history.
